POLAND

Township police arrested three people after break-ins at two homes in the township Thursday.

Homes on Valiant and Thunderbird drives were burglarized Thursday morning, said Sgt. Dan Aracich.

“We got a call about 6:30 a.m. about suspicious people by a house on Thunderbird Drive,” he said Thursday night.

Aracich said a township officer spotted three men in a vehicle and they took off, damaging yards as they fled. They were found again later in the Brookstone area of the township.

Household items from both homes were found in their vehicle, Aracich said. One of the suspects had a weapon.

Two of the suspects were taken to the Mahoning County jail to await arraignments at 3:30 p.m. today in Struthers Municipal Court.

Maurice R. Resper, 21, address unavailable, is charged with aggravated burglary for being armed with a deadly weapon, contributing to the delinquency of a child, criminal damaging/endangering, failure to comply with a police order/attempting to flee and receiving stolen property.

Devin Leland Gilmore, 23, address unavailable, was charged with burglary in an occupied home, contributing to the delinquency of a child and theft without consent.

The third suspect, a juvenile, was taken to the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center and will be arraigned at a later date.
