CANFIELD

At a recent Canfield Rotary luncheon, two exchange students shared their plans with club members. Elena Zoppolato is a Rotary exchange student from Italy who has spent the 2014-2015 school year at Canfield High School, and Della Colley, a Canfield High School student, will spend the 2015-2016 school year as a exchange student in Germany.

In August, Canfield Rotary will host a boy from Spain for the 2015-2016 school year.

Each year more than 8,000 students from more than 80 countries take part in exchanges sponsored by Rotary clubs worldwide.

Students wanting to be exchange students during the 2016-2017 school year must be between 15 and 181/2 years old, in the upper third of his or her academic class, of good character and emotionally stable, and in good physical condition. Most importantly, the student must be able to be a good ambassador.

The student, or his family, is expected to pay travel and insurance costs, as well as to provide some spending and emergency money. Room, board, schooling and a monthly allowance are provided by the host Rotary Club and family.

Anyone interested in becoming an exchange student or hosting one should contact the local Rotary Club or Sieglinde Warren at suwarren19@zoominternet.net for information.
