PREP SOFTBALL DIVISION III REGIONAL SEMIFINAL

When: Today, 5 p.m.

Where: Massillon High School.

Projected lineup: Champion coach Cheryl Weaver alternated senior Haylee Gardiner and sophomore Mckenzie Zigmont in the regular season. Gardiner is expected to start and Zigmont will play in right field. Gardiner is the only Golden Flash who was on the team as a freshman when Champion won the Division III state crown. Other starters are likely to be: Amber Ricci, first base; Megan Turner, shortstop; Molly Williams, catcher; Brittany Allen, third base; Kiersten Jones, designated player; Alayna Fell, left field; Carissa Hurst, second base; and Alexandra Steigerwald, flex.

Next: The winner plays the winner of Thursday’s South Range/Elyria Catholic game for a state berth.
