Nannicola Inc. among companies raided by state, feds


YOUNGSTOWN — The Ohio Investigative Unit, and the U.S. Secret Service are conducting a raid at the Nannicola Inc., 2750 Salt Springs Road.

The raid is among 35 search warrants executed today with 30 in Ohio, three in Florida, and two in Georgia. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation also participated in the search.

According to a press release from OIU, the investigation continues to grow, but criminal charges are not expected to be filed today. OIU is expected to file administrative charges this evening against liquor permit premises involved in today’s search warrants. Information regarding administrative charges will be released at that time.

Other agencies involved in the investigation include, from Ohio, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Euclid, Parma and Springfield (Clark County) police departments, as well as, from Florida, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office.

A company official told The Vindicator that he was not immediately aware of what all was going on.

"We will issue a statement," he said.

According to its website, Nannicola Inc. is one the largest distributors of charitable gaming and fundraising products in the United States.
