Kalontae Carter murder trial delayed a week
YOUNGSTOWN — The aggravated murder trial of Kalontae Carter, 19, in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court, has been delayed for a week.
Carter asked Judge Lou D’Apolito on Tuesday, the day jury selection began, for more time because he said he did not receive certain materials from his defense attorney, although his attorney has reviewed the case with him.
Judge D’Apolito originally granted Carter just an extra day, but today he stretched that into a week.
Carter is accused in the death of a man of Kristopher Stuart, 26, on Elm Street in April 2013.
