Deadline to apply for Homestead Exemption program is Monday for Columbiana Co. residents

LISBON — Columbiana County Auditor Nancy Milliken is now accepting applications for enrollment in the Homestead Exemption program for 2015.

New applicants who own their homes and will turn 65 or older this year, or have become permanently disabled, will now be subject to an income test to qualify for the program.

The new rules require applicants to have an adjusted gross household income of $31,000 or less to be eligible. The deadline to apply for the exemption for both new and late applicants is Monday.

Applications are available at the auditor’s office at the courthouse, 105 S. Market St., or can be downloaded from the audtior’s website at www.columbianacntyauditor.org.
