3rd pleads guilty in last summer's home invasion

YOUNGSTOWN

Three men facing charges for a West Side home invasion have entered guilty pleas to counts of aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery.

Prosecutors in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court are recommending sentences of six years each for Dwaylyn Nadal, 29, Sterling Owens, 24 and Derek Royal, also 24.

They are accused of forcing their way into a home in the 100 block of South Schenley Avenue at about 1:10 a.m. Aug. 7.

Sentencing will be 9 a.m. Monday before Judge Maureen Sweeney.

When officers arrived, they found one of the home’s occupants on the roof, telling officers there were men inside with guns.
