3 plead guilty to West Side home-invasion charges


YOUNGSTOWN — Three men facing charges for a West Side home invasion last summer have entered guilty pleas to counts of aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

Prosecutors are recommending sentences of six years each for Dwaylyn Nadal, 29; Sterling Owens, 24; and Derek Royal, also 24.

They are accused of forcing their way into a home in the 100 block of South Schenley Avenue about 1:10 a.m. Aug. 7, 2014.

Sentencing will be 9 a.m. Monday before Judge Maureen Sweeney.
