2 plead guilty today for setting North Lima mansion on fire last year

YOUNGSTOWN — Two people accused of setting the fire that destroyed the Firestone Mansion in North Lima entered guilty pleas in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court today to arson and vandalism charges.

Alexis Little, 20, and Brian McKinney, 20, will be sentenced at a later date by Judge Lou D'Apolito.

The pair are accused of setting a fire that burned down the Firestone Mansion in North Lima Oct. 21.

The mansion, which sat adjacent to Pine Lake, was built in 1880 and was being renovated by the current owners, who purchased it in 2011, when it burned down.

The vandalism charge is for damage done at the old mill in Mill Creek Park, which was spray painted.

Prosecutors are recommending five years' probation with the first six months to be served in the Mahoning County jail for Little and McKinney.
