Mystery novelist will be library guest

YOUNGSTOWN

Best-selling author Louise Penny will be the special guest at a fundraiser event Aug. 29 at the main branch of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, 305 Wick Ave. The event is sponsored by the library’s Literary Society.

The evening will include a presentation by the author and a signed copy of her new book. Cocktails and heavy appetizers will be served. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Penny is best known for her Armand Gamache mystery series. The next in the series, “The Nature of the Beast,” will be published Aug. 25.

Tickets are $60 per person. The first 100 reservations will receive a chance to win two tickets to next year’s Literary Society event and a ticket for a free glass of wine.
