MCCTC students achieve at national contest

CANFIELD

Information-Technology students from the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center traveled to Anaheim, Calif., earlier this month to compete at the 2015 National Business Professionals of America Leadership Conference with their teacher and adviser Helen Slack.

Matthew Tewell, a senior from Canfield, was a national winner in the Entrepreneurship event and Industry credentialed as a Microsoft Technical Associate Certified in Networking and Security.

Christopher Perl, a Boardman junior, was a national winner in the event of Basic Office Systems and Procedures.

Jacob Lucas, a senior from Struthers, was a national qualifier and Industry credentialed in Microsoft Office Specialist Certified in MS-Word and MS-Access.

Emily Gavalier, a Struthers junior, was a national qualifier in Administrative Support Individual event.

BPA is a career technical student organization for students pursuing careers in business management, office administration, information technology and other related fields.
