Golfers will tee off against heart disease

The American Heart Association and sponsors Gasser Chair and StairMaster are preparing for the 2015 Annual Northeast Ohio Golf Classic Scramble on June 8 at Youngstown Country Club, 1402 Country Club Drive.

The 18-hole scramble will begin at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start. For $250 per person or $1,000 for a team of four, golfers will receive an 11:30 a.m. lunch, golf carts, refreshments on the course and an awards reception after play.

The outing will offer team and individual prizes to assure a little friendly competition. A cash prize of $25,000 for the First Hole-In-One is provided by the event chairmen, Michael Burley, M.D., and Joe Valvo.

Other First Hole-In-One prizes are a 2015 Cadillac CTS provided by Stadium GM and a $10,000 shopping spree provided by Adamas Jewelry and Gifts.

There also will be a Closest-to-the-Pin prize provided by Tele-Gold Jewelers of Boardman.

Hit-The-Bloomin’-Green prizes, courtesy of Bloomin’ Brands of Niles, also will be featured. At the end of the event, other monetary prizes will be awarded to teams and individuals.

The media sponsor is 21 WFMJ-TV. The event also is supported by Gold Sponsors Aerolite Extrusion Co., Central One Optical, Martin Financial, MVI HomeCare, Prout Boiler Heating & Welding Inc. and Sims AutoPark-GMC Buick Nissan.
