Kids art classes at gallery

The Art Outreach Gallery is expanding its summer workshops and children’s programs this year. Classes will run from June 22 to July 10 at the gallery in Eastwood Mall.

Twenty workshops are scheduled, including Art of Paper Making, taught by Holly Carine, and Soil Art, taught by Kelly Hardvel. Others include Chalk it Up, Banner Your Name, Matisse Bowl, Ladybug Prints and more.

Workshops are designed for children 5 to 18 years of age and are taught by local art educators and education students.

The classes are free, thanks to donations by local foundations, the board of directors and volunteers. Space and supplies are limited. Workshops will take place in the gallery, which is next to GNC in the J.C. Penney concourse.

Class information and registration forms can be downloaded at artoutreach.org, or picked up at the gallery or the mall customer- service center.

Applicants must submit a completed registration form in person at the gallery or the customer service center or by fax to 330-544-5929.

Gallery hours are 5-9 p.m. Friday, 1-9 p.m. Saturday, and 1-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.
