WARREN

Surveillance video captured three males about 12 to 16 years old as they stole a large wooden wire spool, tried to set fire to a large wooden storage box and vandalized a large trailer at Main Lite Electric, 3000 Sferra Ave. NW, on Wednesday night. The males accessed that part of the Main Lite property by leaving the bike trail that passes behind the business.

Holiday patrols

BOARDMAN

Township police will supplement regular patrols with high-visibility patrols during Memorial Day weekend. Officers will target violators for aggressive driving, distracted driving, seat-belt usage and impaired-driving offenses.

Boil-water advisory

POLAND

Aqua Ohio has issued a precautionary boil-water advisory after an 8-inch water main broke along North Lima Road.

The advisory is for customers in the area bounded on the north by Chesterton and North Lima Road, on the east by Springfield Road, on the south by Paulin Road and on the west by Interstate 680.

The area includes Bluebell Trail and Meadow Wood Circle.

The advisory will be in effect until 1 p.m. today. Crews have isolated the break and are making repairs, according to the company website.

Council expected to OK power plant

LORDSTOWN

Lordstown Village Council is expected to approve legislation Tuesday that will give the village’s approval to the $800 million Clean Energy Future gas-to-electric power- generating plant in Lords-town Industrial Park.

Mayor Arno Hill said the legislation on the agenda for the 6 p.m. meeting at Village Council Chambers on Salt Springs Road is to approve an enterprise agreement.

After council approval, it goes to the Trumbull County commissioners, Hill said.

The school district is on board with the enterprise agreement, Hill said. The plant will generate between $1 million and $1.5 million annually for the schools and $3 million per year for local governments providing water and treating wastewater, said the plant’s president, Bill Siderewicz.

Sobriety checkpoints

CANFIELD

The Mahoning County OVI Task Force will have two sobriety checkpoints over Memorial Day weekend.

One will be Saturday and the other Sunday. Officers will conduct roadside checks of drivers in two separate locations for alcohol and drug impairment. The locations have not been announced.
