A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:

POLAND

May 14

Burglaries: Police responded to six reports of break-ins, one each on Diana and Denver drives, Dobbins and Miller roads and Olde Chartered and Eastbrooke trails. Stolen property included iPhones, money and credit cards.

Identity fraud: A Badal Drive woman found out her credit-card number had been used without authorization.

May 15

Drug paraphernalia: A traffic stop on Edgewater Drive led to a minor-misdemeanor citation charging 25-year-old John R. Tinney of Edgewater, Poland, with possession of drug paraphernalia.

May 16

Identity fraud: A Renwick Drive woman learned that her identity had been compromised.

May 17

Criminal damaging: The front door to a residence in the 7900 block of Eastbrooke Trail sustained $100 in damage.

BOARDMAN

May 13

Arrest: Police took into custody 25-year-old Boston M. Walker, who listed addresses on Southern Boulevard in Youngstown and Reed Avenue in Campbell. Walker was wanted on a felonious-assault charge after his former girlfriend, of South Schenley Avenue, alleged he had intentionally struck her with his vehicle during an argument.

Theft: Robert T. Porter IV, 38, of Struthers Road, New Middletown, was charged after a small amount of merchandise was stolen from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Forgery: A Canfield woman realized her signature had been forged on five checks while at a Doral Drive big-box store.

Domestic violence: A township girl, 16, was accused of slamming a refrigerator door on her mother’s arm during an argument between them related to discipline matters.

May 14

Arrest: Police responding to a report of an erratic driver on U.S. Route 224 charged Javon M. Thomas of Stow with obstructing official business and resisting arrest after alleging Thomas, 24, had refused several times to get out of his car. He also briefly struggled with officers, they said.

Theft: Two men stole an undisclosed sum of money from two cash registers at Sam’s Club, 6361 South Ave.

Identity fraud: A Riverside Drive woman learned that her stolen debit card had been used to rack up about $447 worth of unauthorized charges.

Theft: A purse was taken from a vehicle in the 4000 block of Stratmore Avenue.

Theft of services: The owner of a business in the 4100 block of Market Street told officers someone has been using his trash bin without permission over a two-year period.

Breaking and entering: Someone smashed a rear window and entered a vacant home in the 80 block of Alburn Drive.

Theft: A Beechwood Drive man reported a wallet, a driver’s license and a debit card missing from his car.

Theft/unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Brookfield Avenue woman alleged her daughter took her 2003 Pontiac Vibe vehicle without permission, along with $80 from the accuser’s purse.

Theft: A Wolosyn Circle woman discovered $100 missing from her purse.

Theft: An Austintown woman reported a bag containing an iPad device and other items had been removed from her shopping cart at a Doral Drive grocery store.

May 15

Criminal mischief: An Annawan Lane woman reported a neighbor with whom she has ongoing problems purposely used a leaf blower to blow leaves, sticks and grass clippings into her yard.

Drugs: James E. Davis of Market Street, North Lima, was charged with one felony count of crack-cocaine possession after police pulled him over on Market. The 48-year-old Davis had a piece of paper and a bag, both of which contained suspected crack cocaine, a report showed.

Theft: Latashia L. Walker, 30, of Canfield Road, Youngstown, and 36-year-old Jesse R. Spragling of Sherwood Avenue, Youngstown, were charged with stealing children’s clothing and a set of cologne from the J.C. Penney store in Southern Park Mall. Spragling also was wanted on two warrants.

Theft: A woman noticed 30 prescription pills missing from her West Boulevard apartment.

Theft/criminal damaging: A Clifton Drive woman saw that someone had smashed her car’s window and stolen a $200 pair of sunglasses.

Theft: Authorities at the Mahoning County jail phone booked 39-year-old Corey J. Shrout of Bane Street, Warren, on a theft charge related to a March 11 shoplifting situation in which a set of wireless headphones and a curling iron were stolen from Best Buy, 561 Boardman-Poland Road.

Harassment: A Glenwood Avenue woman reported a caller claiming to represent Microsoft Corp. told the accuser something was wrong with her computer. He called five times in a recent one-day period, she said.

Burglary: To an apartment in the 40 block of Shields Road through an open living room window. A 42-inch flat-screen TV was removed.

Identity theft: An employee with a Boardman-Poland Road electronics business reported someone tried to apply for a store credit card with another person’s Social Security number.

Indecency: A worker for a Doral Drive big-box store reported a man exposed himself while at the business.

Theft: Martika Q. Dennis, 21, of Etna Street, New Castle, Pa., was charged with stealing a $9 home-pregnancy test from Walmart.

May 16

Arrest: A traffic stop near Southern Boulevard resulted in the arrest of 45-year-old Tabitha A. Kerr of Youngstown-Hubbard Road, Youngstown. Kerr was accused of failing to appear in court to face a criminal-trespassing charge.

Burglary: To an apartment in the 3900 block of South Schenley Avenue via the front door, though police found no signs of forced entry. Three TVs, a DVD player and 20 pairs of shoes were taken, for an estimated loss of $1,200.

Citation: Authorities received information that two children might have been left alone in a car in the 400 block of Boardman-Poland Road, where they issued a minor-misdemeanor citation charging Amanda Devault, 28, of Timberlane Drive, Youngstown, with littering, having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and driving under suspension.

Domestic violence: Timothy E. Walker, 38, of South Avenue, Boardman, was charged with the crime after a family member alleged Walker had pushed her down during an argument.

Theft: Todd W. Shall, 53, of East Lucius Avenue, Youngstown, was phone booked after a Jan. 27 situation in which a Lemont Drive woman reported having given someone $20 to shovel her driveway before the person left and failed to complete the work.

Possible theft: An Enon Valley, Pa., woman reported her wallet lost or stolen while at a South Avenue grocery store.

Theft: Authorities charged Cassandra M. Hoffman, 25, with theft after alleging Hoffman, of East Market Street, Warren, had stolen seven $20 T-shirts from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.

Vandalism: A man in the 6300 block of South Avenue noticed someone had pried open and broke into his mailbox.

Fraud: An Arden Boulevard woman told police someone sent her an email asking to order $150 worth of beauty products before she received a $1,976 check, apparently with a discrepancy in the address from which it had been sent. She then got a second email claiming a mistake had been made with the check and requesting she cash the check anyway, then send a money order to someone in Oregon, all of which led her to believe it was a scam.

Arrest: Authorities phone booked 24-year-old Dale L. Lowe of Woodworth Road, New Springfield. He was wanted on a township warrant charging theft.

Burglary: Took place in the 4000 block of Glenwood Avenue, though it appeared nothing had been stolen. A door jamb was damaged, however.

Theft: A man fled on foot after reportedly stealing two pieces of gold jewelry from Piercing Pagoda in Southern Park Mall.

Theft: Officers charged David Tribble IV, 35, of Stewart Street, Youngstown; Tammy M. Greene, 52, of Idora Avenue, Youngstown; and a 14-year-old city boy after roughly $90 worth of merchandise was stolen from Gabriel Bros., 850 Boardman-Poland Road. Greene and Tribble also faced one count each of contributing to the unruliness of a minor; in addition, Tribble was charged with obstructing official business when, police said, he led them on a foot chase.

Harassment: A Helena Avenue man said a neighbor has been harassing him while the accuser was at work.

Fraud: A Boardman man discovered $618.57 worth of unauthorized charges to his debit card, all of which originated at Southern Park Mall.

May 17

Assault: A Redford, Mich., man had several bruises and complained of dizziness while telling police he had been struck in the throat, head and elbow, causing him to fall, at a Tiffany Boulevard skating rink.

Theft: A woman reportedly took 15, $25 blankets from Walmart.

Theft: Youngstown police transferred custody of Paulette W. Lee to township authorities. Lee, 43, of Delaware Avenue, Youngstown, was charged with stealing a three-pack of children’s socks March 25 from Family Dollar, 4026 South Ave.

Domestic violence: Matthew L. Wilson, 30, of Massillon was arrested at Akron Children’s Hospital, 6515 Market St., and charged after a family member alleged Wilson had grabbed her face and shoved her backward onto a couch during an argument related to their baby.

Theft/menacing: A manager with Buffalo Wild Wings in Southern Park Mall reported that after having been terminated, an employee refused to return an undisclosed amount of money to the business. The former worker also threatened the employer regarding the incident, he told authorities.

Theft: A township man purportedly ordered and had delivered to his home two pizzas from Tangier Express Pizza, 8252 Market St., but refused to pay for them.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle in the 7500 block of Glenwood Avenue was found with three slashed tires. The damage estimate was $300.

Theft: A man fled from Kohl’s after reportedly stealing $125 worth of men’s clothing and a pair of sandals.

Criminal damaging: A Lockwood Boulevard man reported a vehicle’s side mirror struck and did about $125 in damage to his mailbox.

Theft: A man stole a $38 bottle of auto-refrigerant refill material from Walmart.

Theft: A man tried to steal three steaks from Modarelli’s Sparkle Market, 4121 South Ave.
