One Health Ohio gets $1.5M grant

YOUNGSTOWN

One Health Ohio has received a $1.5 million federal grant that will allow the organization to implement a service model for its patients to include medical, dental and behavioral-health services.

One Health Ohio has provided medical and dental services in Northeast Ohio for the past 28 years. It is based with a health center on Wick Avenue in Youngstown. It also has four health centers in Warren and one in Alliance.

“The need for mental- health services in the United States is at a critical point,” said U.S. Rep. After months of searching, a donor has been found for a Trumbull County foster child who is in desperate need of a new liver, according to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.

The 4-year-old already had spent most of her life in and out of a hospital when she was admitted to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in January.

An online campaign was launched to help find Jamie a liver. Donors were required to have type O blood, be between age 18 and 55, have a body mass index of 30 or less and not be suffering from conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes or heart disease.
