Pruning early spring bloomers

If your shrub bloomed and faded by now, it’s the perfect time to prune. For old-fashioned lilacs, cut 1/4 to 1/3 of the largest diameter stems to rejuvenate the plant for continuous blooms. Other shrubs? Don’t sheer. Practice selective pruning.
