Commissioners recognize Mahoning recycling poster winners


YOUNGSTOWN

The Mahoning County commissioners recognized this morning eight first place winners in the county recycling division’s annual recycling and anti-litter poster contest for students in local public, private and parochial schools.

First place winners and their schools are: Diane Smith, first grade, Poland Union Elementary School; Addyson Miller, second grade, Holy Family School, Poland; Kayci Harding, third grade, West Boulevard Elementary School, Boardman; Daphne Snyder, fourth grade, Damascus Elementary School; Jenna Madick, fifth grade, Glenwood Middle School, Boardman; Alaina Fitch, sixth grade, Western Reserve Middle School, Berlin Center; Alisa Telega, seventh grade, and Anson Hankey, eighth grade, both at St. Christine School, Youngstown.

The first place winning posters, chosen from among 564 entries, will be used as placemats in local restaurants and community organizations.

First place winners received $25 prizes from Dominion and certificates from the recycling division, known as the Green Team.
