Friends of the Mahoning River Riverfest, B&O Station, 530 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown. Hours: noon- 8 p.m. This celebration of the Mahoning River offers kayak and canoe rides from Trumbull Canoe Trails Club, nature trail walks, educational and historical activities and displays, kids activities and crafts, food, 50-50 drawing, slide, bounce-arounds, clowns and face painting will be offered. Trumbull Art Gallery’s Summerfest for Children, 158-162 N. Park Ave., Warren. Lithuanian-American artist Ben Shahn, who uses his art to speak on current events, inspired the series of art workshops for children 4-7, 7-10 and 12 and older, offered throughout the last two weeks of June. Finale event, Children’s Art Parade, is 11:30 a.m. June 26; participants will walk to Courthouse Square to enjoy the Fine Art Council of Trumbull County’s Noon In The Park and Chalk on the Walk programs, and AVI will offer free ice cream.
