Victorian Players present family farce ‘Sneaky Fitch’

Staff report

YOUNGSTOWN

The Victorian Players will end its season with “The Death and Life of Sneaky Fitch,” a farcical tale of the old West that romps through the traditions and cliches of classic cowboy movies and TV shows.

The family-friendly comedy includes shootouts in the aisles, wild horses and drunken cowboys, and tells the story of a cowardly cowboy who dies and comes back with stunning results. Set in the fictional town of Gopher Gulch, it’s told by a cowboy storyteller through a mixture of comedy and bad country music, performed by guitarist Stephen Kountz.

Sneaky Fitch is played by Derek Steyer, weekend anchor of 21 WFMJ-TV. Rounding out the cast are Joyce Jones, Bill Finley, Hunter Thomas, Nick Mulichak, Selena Phillips, Dr. Bob Gerdes, C. Richard Haldi, Nathan Skaggs, Morgan LaCamera, Robert Jolliff, Donald Connors, Marisa Keyshock, Nica Mulichak, Karina Mulichak, Anita Weinstock, Tony Zarconi, Heleena Huncik, Elanie Huncik and Cody L. McMurray.

Sam Luptak Jr. is director. Assistant eirector is Elizabeth Daley; set design and construction is by Tom Copeland; and costume design is by Marlene Menaldi Strollo.
