Thinking she was out, the Raiders began celebrating and the runner on second started walking back to the dugout and was tagged out to end the game. South Range scored the game-winner in the bottom of the sixth. Morgan Czopur led off with a bunt single and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt. After Sarah Moretti walked, Czopur scored on a squeeze bunt by cleanup hitter Jordan Youngs, who had tripled in her last at-bat. South Range (20-6) will meet Newton Falls Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at Springfield High. The Raiders defeated the Tigers 2-1 in nine innings in last year’s district final. Karlee Byrne tossed a four-hitter with one walk and 12 strikeouts for Girard (13-12). She also homered.
