Man seriously injured in Johnston Township crash

Steven Frantz Jr., 21, of Burghill, suffered serious injuries in a single-car crash on state Route 7 at 9:36 p.m. Tuesday in Johnston Township.

Frantz’ 2000 GMC pickup truck was northbound and traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree. He was wearing a seat belt, the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Southington Post reported.

He was extricated from the truck and taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

The roadway was closed for about one hour. The crash remains under investigation.
