Man arrested for gun also wanted on 2 gun-related warrants


YOUNGSTOWN — A man arrested for having a loaded semiautomatic handgun at about 6:50 p.m. Monday had two active warrants on firearm charges, police discovered

Officers were checking out a complaint of cars in the drive of a vacant home in the 300 block of East Ravenwood Avenue and spotted Raymond Johnson, 23, of Willis Avenue, who was a passenger in an SUV that had been involved in an earlier shooting incident, reports said.

Reports said Johnson was acting very nervous and he was searched by police.

Police found the gun in his pants pockets when he was searched, reports said.

Reports said Johnson was wanted on warrants for carrying a concealed weapon and grand theft firearm.

He was booked into the Mahoning County jail on another charge of carrying a concealed weapon.
