Lane closures on the Western Reserve Road bridge over Interstate 680 that were scheduled to begin Monday have been pushed back to Wednesday. Starting then, the bridge will be reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge repairs.

Man sentenced

WARREN

Ondre L. Brown, 22, of several Liberty addresses, was sentenced to seven years in prison Monday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court after pleading guilty earlier to two counts of felony child endangering.

Police said he was responsible for injuries suffered by two of his girlfriend’s children last July at their apartment in Liberty. A 2-year-old girl suffered a broken collarbone, and a 3-year-old girl suffered burns, police said.

When police arrived at the apartment early July 29, they discovered bruises on the 2-year-old’s face and bruising on her ear.

The child’s mother already had taken the 3-year-old to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital for treatment of burns that also had occurred while she was at work the previous night, police said.

Narcan saves life

WARREN

Sgt. Greg Coleman of the Warren Police Department with assistance from Lt. Greg Hoso recently saved the life of a man on Jackson Street Southwest using the overdose-reversal drug Narcan. Officers were issued the drug and were trained on its use in the past 10 days. This is the first time a Warren police officer has administered the medication.

Attempted abduction

CHAMPION

A woman reported that a man attempted to abduct her while she was jogging on Airport Road about 9:45 a.m. Sunday.

She said a man in a 2014 or 2015 royal blue, short-bed pickup truck with chrome drove past her two times, then asked her for directions to Hewitt Garfield Road.

She told him there was no such road in Champion. He got out of the truck and came after her, yelling, “Come here, come here” in a loud and gruff voice, she said. He didn’t touch her.

When she screamed and ran toward a house in the 1000 block to get help, the man drove away. He is decribed as being, thin, clean cut, white, in his late 40s, bald or short hair wearing a baseball cap.
