City traffic stop yields pot discovery, arrest

YOUNGSTOWN — Police found 16 bags of marijuana during a traffic stop about 4:15 p.m. Monday on the North Side.

Reports said Rory Stephenson, 33, was a passenger in a car pulled over at Ford and Caroline avenues for an improper turn. Stephenson was searched after reports said officers saw a large bulge in the pocket of a jacket he was wearing and thought it might be a gun.

When Stephenson was searched officers found a knife and some pills and arrested him on charges of carrying a concealed weapon and possession of drugs. When he was booked into the Mahoning County jail, officers found the bags of marijuana in his sock, reports said.
