UPDATE | Solar panel wind deflector earns YSU second fed patent


YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown State University has received its second federal patent.

The patent was granted for the solar panel wind deflector, an invention of Ganesh Kudav, professor of mechanical engineering, and Yogendra Panta, a former YSU assistant professor of mechanical engineering.

It’s the second federal patent in less than a year for YSU.

Last fall, Tom Oder, YSU physics professor, earned a patent for a process he developed to improve performance of semiconductor devices.
