Spice of India owner will be sentenced July 20 for role in arson
YOUNGSTOWN — One of the two owners of the former Spice of India restaurant on Market Street in Boardman entered no contest today in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court to charges of arson and insurance fraud.
Rajendra Ingle, 42, of Streetsboro, will be sentenced July 20 by Visiting Judge Thomas Pokorny.
Three others were indicted for their role in the Oct. 8, 2013, arson that destroyed the restaurant, causing $250,000 in damage.
Judge Pokorny found Ingle guilty.
The restaurant had been behind on its rent before the fire, according to a lawsuit filed against the owners.
