Judge Rusu set to speak at Men’s Day prayer breakfast

Judge Robert Rusu of Mahoning County Probate Court will be guest speaker at a prayer breakfast at 10 a.m. Saturday at Price Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Church, 920 Dryden Ave.

The Men’s Day Committee is the sponsor.

The church will celebrate Men’s Day on Sunday during worship at 11:45 a.m. Speaker will be the Rev. Juan Rivera, pastor of New Life Church in Poland.

TCESC to award scholarships at recognition event

The Trumbull County Educational Service Center will host its annual Recognition Breakfast on Wednesday at Leo’s Ristorante, 7042 E. Market St.

The TCESC will award approximately $32,000 in scholarships to 45 students from 23 schools at the annual breakfast event.

Breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m., and a program with guest speaker Jim Tressel, Youngstown State University president, will begin about 9:15.

Fraud-awareness event planned for Wednesday

May is Public Assistance Fraud Awareness Month in Ohio, and the Mahoning County Department of Job and Family Services, along with the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Department, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Office, IRS Criminal Investigation, Ohio Fraud Control, U.S Department of Agriculture, Office of Inspector General Special Agent and local law enforcement and local government administrators, are spreading the word that fraud costs all of us.

The local fraud-awareness event will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the auditorium at the Oakhill Renaissance Place, 345 Oak Hill Ave.
