Golf outing to benefit kidney organization

GREENVILLE, PA.

A golf tournament to benefit NephCure Kidney International will take place June 15 at the Greens of Greenville, 765 Mercer Road.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., and a shotgun start will kick off play at 11.

The entry fee of $80 includes green fees, cart, catered lunch and dinner.

A dinner-only ticket is $25.

Skins and Mulligans will be available at registration.

Also featured will be skill contests and prizes, a chipping contest and a basket auction.

Sponsorships of $100, $250 and $500 are available.

The event is hosted by the Hull family in honor of their son and brother, Chris Hull, who was diagnosed with kidney impairment at age 14.

Local teen to compete in Ohio pageant

YOUNGSTOWN

Soroya Andrea Edmonson, 17, of Youngstown has been chosen as a state finalist in the National American Miss Ohio Pageant set for June 28 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Columbus.

The pageant is for girls 16 to 18.

Miss American Ohio will receive $1,000 cash, the official crown and banner, a bouquet of roses, and air transportation to the national pageant at Disneyland in California.

She also will tour Hollywood.

Contestants will compete in formal wear modeling, personal introduction, interview and community service project.

Soroya’s activities include dance line, miming and Harambee.
