Eagle award

Cody Park, son of Charles and Valerie Park of Salem, has earned his Eagle Scout rank, Boy Scouting’s highest award. Cody is a member of Troop 3 chartered to First Presbyterian Church in Salem.

Cody joined Cub Scout Pack 3, also in Salem, and advanced through the ranks. He earned 36 belt loops, 32 pins, 2 gold arrow points, 12 silver arrow points and all 20 Webelos activity badges. He also earned Cub Scouting’s highest honor, the Arrow of Light, in 2008.

Cody has earned 31 merit badges, multiple Polar Bear awards, Seven Ranges 5-year Pipestone Honor, 1 Eagle Palm, God and Me and God and Family awards. He is a member of the Order of the Arrow.

He attended National Youth Leadership Camp and completed the curriculum to receive his patch. He has served as troop scribe, webmaster, assistant patrol leader, senior patrol leader and assistant junior scoutmaster.

For his Eagle Scout service project, he built picnic tables for the Columbiana County Fairgrounds.

Cody is a senior at West Branch High School. He is involved in cross country, track, marching band, symphonic band, jazz band, National Honor Society, academic challenge, Mount Union Junior Scholars, and foreign language club. Cody has kept perfect attendance throughout high school and has a 3.97 GPA. He is in the top 10 of his class and has received the scholastic athletic award. He is slated to be class salutatorian upon graduation. He will attend the College of Wooster to study chemistry.
