Lilly Fairall wins spot as pageant finalist
AUSTINTOWN
Lillian Fairall, 11, daughter of Don and Jennifer Fairall of Austintown, has been chosen to be a state finalist in a national pageant.
The National American Miss Ohio Pageant will take place June 27 and 28 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Columbus.
Lillian, who is nicknamed Lilly, will compete for the title of Miss Tween Ohio in the 10-to-12 age range.
The winner of that contest will receive a $1,000 cash award, the official crown and banner, a bouquet of roses and air transportation to compete in the national pageant at Disneyland in California.
Lilly is a server at her church, St. Brendan’s in Youngstown.
She enjoys singing in talent shows and in her school choir.
An honor-roll student, Lilly is a whiz in math and science.

Filipino group plans inaugural ball
GIRARD
The Filipino-American Organization of Northeastern Ohio will host an inaugural ball at 6 p.m. Friday at the Mahoning Country Club, 710 E. Liberty St.
The theme will be barrio fiesta, a traditional Filipino community celebration.
New officers will be inducted.
Features include dinner, dancing, Filipino dances and a fashion show presenting Filipino clothing for men and women.

Stephanie Miranda wins pageant title
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, OHIO
Representing Youngstown, 21-year-old Stephanie Miranda won the title Miss Ohio US International on April 25.
She will represent the state at the national pageant in Florida.
Miranda, a communication major at Youngstown State University, also is a former Miss Ohio Latina winner.
She will compete in Orlando, Fla., on June 22 through 25.
