Inter Tri-County League championships
EAST PALESTINE
United senior Riley Fillman won the 200-meter dash, the 110 hurdles, the 300 hurdles and the long jump to help the Eagles capture the Red Tier title at Saturday’s Inter Tri-County League meet at Reid Stadium. United finished with 95 points, while East Palestine was second with 73. In the White Tier, Wellsville freshman Andre Sloan won the 400 and placed second in the 100, 200 and long jump to win high point honors but the Tigers couldn’t catch Lisbon, which finished with 123 points to Wellsville’s 84. In the Blue Tier, Mineral Ridge senior Logan Smith won the 800, 1600 and 3200 and finished third in the 400 as the Rams (88 points) finished second behind McDonald (113 points). In girls competition, United sophomore Mariah Eisenbraun took high point honors to help the Eagles finish second behind South Range, 100.5-89. Eisenbraun won the 100 and 200, placed third in the long jump and helped the Eagles win the 4x100 relay. Leetonia junior Casey Grace won the 800, 1600 and 3200 and helped the Bears place fourth in the 4x800 relay and finish second in the White Tier standings to Columbiana, 124-74. McDonald defeated Western Reserve for the Blue Tier title 127-80, with junior Iva Domitrovich earn high point honors by winning the 100, 200, 400 and discus.
SECTIONAL TENNIS
Boardman’s Kristian Santilli will be the four seed for the Division I district tournament at Oberlin. Santilli lost to top seed Joey Thomas of Massillon Jackson in the sectional semifinals. In doubles, Canfield’s team of Robert Long-Timothy Cianciola will be the four seed. They lost to Jackson’s team of Jake Zalienski and Anthonay Kanam. In Division II, the singles seeds for the Canton district tournament are: Zach Teffner, Lakeview); Anthony Ricciardi, Poland; Les Horvath, Ursuline; and Rich Hill, Cardinal Mooney. In doubles, the seeds are: Andrew Stille-Jacob Stefko, Cardinal Mooney; Eric Rohrabaugh-Nate Erickson, Lakeview; Daniel LaPolla-John LaPolla, Warren JFK; and Alex Thompson-Dom Caracozza, Struthers.

CANFIELD
Rachel Tinkey homered, doubled, scored two runs and drove in two runs for Canfield. Kara Rothbauer added two singles and scored a run and Ally Sammarco homered and scored twice. Lexi Caraballo led Boardman with two hits and Miyah Mitchum homered.

Amanda Wire and Jenna Schetter had hits in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Bulldogs scored three times to win. Amanda Kabetso had two hits and drove in a run and Schettler doubled and scored. Wire singled, scored and drove in a run. Kristyn Svetlak got the win, striking out nine.

Winning pitcher McKenzie Zigmont (11-2) struck out six and walked one. Zigmont’s two hits included a homer and she drove in three runs. Amber Ricci hit two doubles to drive in two runs for the Golden Flashes (24-4). Megan Turner had two hits and two RBIs while Alayna Fell had two RBIs.
Brookfield 2, LaBrae 0
BROOKFIELD
Alisha Quinlan gave up only three hits and struck out three LaBrae batter to earn the win for Brookfield. Michaela Gauding hit a solo home run and Ella Simcox doubled for the Warriors.
