Hundreds of roller-coaster enthusiasts are expected to gather at a southwestern Ohio amusement park to ride roller coasters and share stories of their experiences riding coasters around the world.

Kings Island officials say the park in Mason is having its first “Coasterstock” this weekend for coaster enthusiasts. More than 500 roller-coaster fans from 24 states and Canada were expected to attend the event Saturday and today.

They will be offered exclusive rides morning and night on Banshee, The Beast, Diamondback and other popular attractions.

Guest speakers at the event include Dennis Speigel, president of International Theme Park Services.

Kings Island is owned and operated by Sandusky-based Cedar Fair Entertainment Co. The company owns and operates 10 other amusement parks and several water parks and hotels.
