Ballet Western Reserve dancers in Spring Gala

YOUNGSTOWN

Ballet Western Reserve students will present their Spring Gala at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday at Liberty High School auditorium in Liberty.

The 130 students, who range in age from 3 to 18, are under the direction of BWR artistic director Stas Kmiec.

Tickets are available at tututix.com. Raffle tickets for a prize of one class for one semester at BWR (a $250 value) will be sold at Sunday’s events and until July 12, with the winning ticket drawn at the Summer Festival of the Arts at Youngstown State University .

Several BWR students also have been accepted to summer intensive ballet training programs, including:

Cristina LaRocca: Orlando (Fla.) Ballet

Hunter Lombard: Point Park University International (Pittsburgh)

Charli Littleton: Indiana University (Bloomington, Ind.)

Katie Reilly: BalletMet (Columbus)

Ava Shapiro: Orlando (Fla.) Ballet

Samantha Smit: Dance Institute at the University of Akron

Dagmar Stahl: Youngs-town State University Summer Intensive

Sarah Veverka: Ballet in Cleveland “artEmotion”

Ballet Western Reserve also is conducting a three-week intensive program this summer from June 8-26. Participants can choose one week, two weeks, or attend for all three.
