Poland Union Elementary hosted Mother-Daughter Night on April 24. This was a special occasion, not just because mothers and daughters got to have an enjoyable night at their school, but because it was the last one at Union Elementary School due to the upcoming merge of all of Poland’s elementary schools.

This year’s theme was the evolution of music. Provided throughout the night was music from all genre’s and generations, music-related crafts and a dance party in the school gymnasium. Stage Door Dance and Theatre Arts Academy was there, wrapping up the night with a dance taught to everyone throughout the night to the song “Uptown Funk.”

Cindy Liddle, coordinator for Mother-Daughter Night and mother to one of the students participating, said she really got into the event this year.

“It’s the last one before we reinvent all of our elementary schools,” Liddle said. “I wanted to do it big.”

Her daughter, Julie Liddle, said she enjoyed spending time with her mom at her school and all of the fun stations provided.

This year Cindy Liddle provided food, something they normally don’t do for these events, in celebration of the final Mother-Daughter Night at Union Elementary.

“It’s nice to do for our Poland Union Family,” Cindy Liddle said.
