ALLIANCES
Ohio Cultural Alliance will gather for a dinner meeting at 6 p.m. June 1 at St. Michael Social Hall, North Broad Street in Canfield. Ron Shaklee, Ph.D., will address the theme “Going Places with the Ohio Cultural Alliance: San Salvador.” Shaklee is a longtime professor at Youngstown State University and conducts classes that include travel to San Salvador, the site of the initial landing of Christopher Columbus. The Felipe Gonzalez Trio will provide cultural enrichment. The cost for the meeting is $15 per paid-up member and $20 for each nonmember. Reservations may be mailed to OCA, Box 561, Canfield, OH 44406-0561 and must be received no later than May 27. Those attending are encouraged to take paper products or nonperishable food items, which will be distributed to the Salvation Army.
AUXILIARIES
VFW Donald Lockett Post 6488 Ladies Auxiliary will meet at 4 p.m. Sunday at the post home, 2065 Coitsville-Hubbard Road, Youngstown. Installation of officers will take place, and a social hour will follow. Sandy Graves will preside.
