Warren woman injured during robbery today

WARREN — A city woman, 32, suffered cuts as she struggled with a man who took her wallet early this morning at the corner of Clarence Street and Woodbine Avenue Southeast.

The woman said she and two friends were walking at 12:26 a.m. when a two-door, red Cadillac pulled up, and the passenger got out and asked for $1.

The woman got out her wallet and handed the man $1, but he grabbed her wallet and got into the car. The woman reached into the car and got her wallet back, but the man was able to take the money out before she did.

The driver pulled away during the struggle, with the woman half way into the car and half out. The driver then pulled out a handgun and pointed at her. She fell to the road, cutting her hands and suffering other bruises. She was treated by ambulance personnel.
