City police probing two shootings

YOUNGSTOWN — Police are investigating two separate shootings.

About 1:10 a.m. today, police were called to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital where Jermylyn White, 21, was being treated for a gunshot wound.

Chief of Detectives Capt. Brad Blackburn said White told officers he was walking in the 900 block of Woodford Avenue when someone shot him from a passing vehicle.

About 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, Larry Robinson, 50, of Bott Street, was shot in an SUV he was driving at Elm Street and Madison Avenue.

Fire reports said firefighters on duty at Fire Station 7, which is at the intersection, heard several shots, looked outside and saw Robinson's SUV crash into a building.

Firefighters saw a woman jump out of a van, run up to the SUV, fire three shots inside, then get back in the van, which drove off, reports said.

Both men are being treated at St. Elizabeth.
