Polar Bear Thaw Bike Ride is Sunday in Farrell, Pa.

FARRELL, PA. — The Shenango Valley YMCA, 211 Federal St., will host its annual Polar Bear Thaw Bike Ride to complement the Polar Bear Bike Ride, which took place on New Year’s Day.

The Polar Bear Thaw Bike Ride is Sunday, and all riders depart at 10 a.m. Riders can participate in their choice of three routes, with distances of approximately 11, 21 or 30 miles.

The 11-mile route has little change in elevation and is perfect for families with young or new riders.

A sag wagon will sweep the course to provide aid to those in need, and there will be lunch after the ride at the YMCA. There are discounted rates for registration before the day of the event, but participants can register on Sunday between 9 and 10 a.m.
