Electrical outlet short leads to porch fire

YOUNGSTOWN — A short in an electrical outlet caused a fire on the porch of a home in the 900 block of Katherine Street about 12:20 p.m. today.

No one was injured but fire officials said the homeowners spotted the fire and called 911 or it could have spread quickly.

Crews were also called about the same time to a grease fire in a Logan Avenue restaurant but details of that blaze are not yet available.
