Midwestern Inter-mediate Unit IV has partnered with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and nationally renowned voice teacher Diana Walters to host Movement and Music Performing Arts Camp for students in fifth through seventh grades.
In its second year, the weeklong performing arts camp will take place Aug. 3-7 at Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV, 453 Maple Street, Grove City.
Performing artists entering grades five through nine interested in dance, theater and music are invited to participate in the camp.
Throughout the week, students will learn how to use their bodies, voices and minds to prepare for performance in dance, theater and music.
Regardless of skill level and experience in dance and music, students are sure to learn something new.
Participants will work on dance and music activities and present what they are learning at a demonstration for their family and friends at a showcase on the final day of camp.
Movement and Music Summer Camp will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The cost is $215 for those who register on or before June 1.
After that, the price will be $230 per student.
The registration fee includes a T-shirt, drinks, snacks, certificate and memory book.
Registration materials can be downloaded at www.miu4.org/camps.
“Students who participate in Movement and Music Summer Camp will have the opportunity to receive world-class dance and music instruction,” said MIU IV Director of Communications Jill Manczka. “The instructors from the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and Mrs. Walters are truly the best in the business.
