In the Valley

The chorus, directed by Jon Simsic, will present “How Can I Keep From Singing?” Concerts of sacred choral music feature chant and works by Hassler, Mendelssohn, Rheinberger, Stanford, Whitlock, Durufle, Whitacre, Gjeilo and others. Concerts also will be highlighted by cellist Jeffrey Singler. Concerts planned are:

Friday: 7:30 p.m. at St. Peter of the Fields Church, 3487 Old Forge Road, Rootstown.

Saturday: 7:30 p.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mount Carmel Ave., Youngstown.

Sunday: 2 p.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown.

May 24: 7:30 p.m. in First United Methodist Church, 200 W. Fifth St., East Liverpool.

Details: A freewill offering will be received at concerts to benefit the ensemble.
