Data Recovery Services LLC, in partnership with the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber, will have the third-annual Tech Belt Technology Summit from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at the Youngstown State University Williamson College of Business Administration at the corner of Rayen Avenue and Phelps Street.

The event lets business decision-makers meet with select vendors and information-technology solutions-provider companies and discuss latest technologies and solutions. This year will feature three presentation tracks geared toward specific executive levels. There will be three lunchtime roundtables featuring speakers from Cisco, EMC Corp. and Hewlett-Packard.

A recent study by Wallet-Hub found Youngstown is the worst metro area to work for a small business.

WalletHub examined the small-business environment within 100 of the largest U.S. metro areas across 11 key metrics. The data set includes metrics such as net small-business job growth, industry variety and earnings for small-business employees.

With a rating of 1 being the best and a rating of 50 being average, Youngstown placed 65th for the number of small businesses per 1,000 inhabitants; 98th for growth in number of small businesses; 89th for net small-business growth; 96th in industry variety; 63rd in earnings for small-business employees; 88th in unemployment rate; and 100th in projected population growth. Chamber golf outing

BROOKFIELD

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will celebrate the beginning of summer with its annual golf outing at Yankee Run Golf Course, 7610 Warren-Sharon Road, at 7:30 a.m. June 3.

This event includes a round of golf, networking and food. The cost is $500 for four people. A midday luncheon will be catered by Kravitz Deli, and 90.7 FM The Summit will provide the music. Morning and afternoon refreshments will also be provided. Participants will have the opportunity to compete for hole-in-one prizes, donated by Komara Jewelers. MYCAP class dates

YOUNGSTOWN

The Mahoning Youngs-town Community Action Partnership, 1325 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has scheduled the dates for its upcoming basic computer skills class. The dates are: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and May 19.

The three-hour beginner’s class covers the mouse, Windows operating system, computer terms, basic Internet use and email. Space is limited and registration is required.

In addition, all participants must be income eligible at or below 125 percent of the federal poverty guidelines. Documentation of eligibility must be submitted. Participants who complete the class will be entered into a drawing for a gift card and laptop computer.
