Habitat for Humanity of Mahoning County, the faith-based home-building organization, is planning to help Nepal rebuild after the April 25 earthquake.

The local organization is raising money to send staff to Nepal to participate in the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter work project from Nov. 1-6.

Already confirmed to assist in Nepal is Scott Craven, Habitat’s northern Columbiana County construction manager, who has been a Habitat employee for more than 10 years.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity to serve overseas to help others that aren’t fortunate enough to have the resources we have in this country,” Craven said. “Habitat needs to be there to help rebuild,” he added.

Habitat is at 480 Youngstown-Poland Road, and its website is www.HabitatMahoningCounty.org.

The trip to Nepal costs $3,000 per person, said Kristina Nicholas, Habitat’s resource development manager.
