VETERINARY
Mahoning Valley Veterinary Centre welcomed Dr. Megan Vessalo to the veterinary team.Dr. Vessalo is a graduate of the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed a small-animal rotating internship at the University of Minnesota from 2010 to 2011. Most recently she worked as an emergency veterinarian.
INSURANCE
Joshua Swogger, a Youngstown native, was named divisional vice president at The Western and Southern Life Insurance Co. to lead business and staff development for Maryland, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio. Swogger will lead a recruiting initiative with plans to add 50 financial representatives to his staff of 165. Western & Southern Life’s financial representatives provide middle-income Americans access to life insurance, annuities and retirement services. Swogger joined Western & Southern Life in May 2010 as a financial representative.
FINANCE
Joel D. Matthews, a private wealth adviser with Ameriprise Financial, earned membership in the company’s exclusive Hall of Fame. Introduced in 1986, the award is designed to recognize exceptional professionals who have achieved years of consistently high performance along with a proven commitment to financial planning and superior client service. The hall of fame is considered a lifetime-achievement award.
BANKING
For the third year in a row, Columbus-based Huntington Bank ranked the highest in the North Central Region in J.D. Power’s 2015 U.S. Retail Banking Satisfaction Study. The findings show Huntington maintained the top spot for the third-consecutive year among the largest financial institutions in the region. This year’s survey results show Huntington scoring 835, an increase of seven points from last year, out of a 1,000-point scale in the North Central Region. The 2015 U.S. Retail Banking Satisfaction Study took into account a total of 23 banks when reviewing the North Central Region and measured satisfaction in six factors: account information; channel activities; facility; fees; problem resolution; and product offerings.
