History Roundtables to begin in Salem

History Roundtables to begin in Salem

SALEM

Salem Historical Society will begin a new series of History Roundtables from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday and on subsequent second Sundays of each month in the Dale Shaffer meeting room of the society, 239 S. Lundy Ave.

The free, informal sessions are a chance for people with common interests to get together and share their memories and information about local history.

It is also a chance for museum volunteers to preserve the history related to these activities for the archives.

Invite everyone you know to gather for coffee and light refreshments.

This month’s topic will be sharing about the farming, processing, and retailing of dairy products. There were more than 30 dairies in Salem and hundreds in the surrounding area. Dairies played a significant role in the economy and many families have been involved with this industry. Ginger Grilli, society vice president, will host this session.

For information call 330-337-8514.
