CANFIELD

Pete Hernandez’s walk-off, bases-loaded single in the bottom of the eighth won it for the Cardinals. Canfield’s Mike Sebes had three hits and scored a run, Luke Kelty had 3 hits, including two doubles, David Shaffer had two hits and 2 RBIs and Joe Delucia drove in two runs. Anthony Vross was the winning pitcher in relief.

North Canton Hoover 7, Boardman 6

NORTH CANTON

Lou Cordona homered and doubled to drive in three runs for the Spartans (15-11). Gavin Steines, Brian Fryda and Drew Wagner each had two hits. The Vikings are 14-9.

West Branch 10-13, South Range 0-0

BEAVER TOWNSHIP

In the opener, Jerian Thomas doubled and drove in three runs for the Warriors (17-7). Kyle Zeigler had two hits and two RBIs. Jake Smith and Kip DeShields also had two RBIs. In the second game, Andrew Shutler and T.J. DeShields combined to toss a one-hitter. Smith, Kip DeShields and Colton Brown each had two RBIs. Nick Deal had the hit for the Raiders (13-10).

HUDSON

Craig Lewis had two of the Tigers’ four hits in the opener. He singled and scored in the second game. Vinny Ruberto had two hits and drove in a run while Z. Campbell singled and brought home a runner.

Mike Kennedy had two hits and two RBIs for the Mustangs (13-4). Bryan Leipply doubled while Tom Sharp and Bryan Oatridge each had two hits. For the Lions, Phil Bell and B. Burgess each had two hits.

EAST PALESTINE

Jaret Spratt tossed a three-hitter in the five-inning win for the Bulldogs (13-8, 4-4 ITCL Red). Josh Fristik had two hits, two RBIs and scored twice. Ricky Telischak and Sam Yarosz each had two hits, scored a run and drove in one. For the Blue Devils, Dave Toot, C. Sweeney and Nick Barnes had hits.

Howland 5, West Branch 4

LIBERTY

Sara Price hit two doubles to lead the Tigers. Winning pitcher Hannah Burke also had two hits. For the Warriors (18-5), Kelsey Byers’ two hits included a double and drove in three runs.

West Branch 4, Austintown Fitch 0

LIBERTY

Byers (6-1) tossed a four-hit shutout, striking out seven and walking none. Kylie Coffelt had two hits. For the Falcons, McKensie Luknis doubled.

Champion 4, Hubbard 3, 9 innings

LIBERTY

Winning pitcher McKenzie Zigmont (9-2) struck out eight, walked three, and scored the winning run for Champion. Megan Turner hit two doubles and Molly Williams also had two hits for the Golden Flashes (18-4). For the Eagles (12-8), Morgan Kist’s three hits included a triple. Addy Jarvis had two hits.

LIBERTY

Haylee Gardiner (10-2) scattered four hits, struck out 13 and walked one. Turner hit two two-run homers. Amber Ricci and Jackie Mulvain also had two hits for the Flashes (19-4). Mulvain drove in two runs. Ricci, Brittany Allen and Alayna Fell doubled. For Geneva (10-9), Alyssa Donata’s two hits included a homer.

Hubbard 6, Boardman 2

LIBERTY

Addy Jarvis had four strikeouts and allowed two hits in three innings of work to earn the win for Hubbard. Emma Wukelich had two hits and Morgan Kist and Javis each added a double for the Eagles (13-8). The game was scoreless until the sixth inning. Sidney Aey stuck out five and walked four in the loss for Boardman.

LIBERTY

Kasey Rininger, Skyler Gilanyi, Haley Davies and Lauren Rutherford each had two hits for the Vikings. Rininger and Morgan Meyer both drove in two runs while Davies and Rutherford scored twice.

LIBERTY

Rininger had three hits, drove in four runs and scored three. Davies also had three hits while winning pitcher Emily Dugan drove in four runs with two hits. She struck out nine and walked none. Meyer also had two hits.

Poland 3, Akron SVSM 0

LIBERTY

Kristyn Svetlak (6-4) tossed a two-hit shutout, striking out 11 and walking one. Ally Deemer had three hits and two RBIs. She and Chloe Bush doubled.

Stow-Monroe Falls 8, Poland 6

LIBERTY

Claire Testa, Amanda Wire and Svetlak each had two hits for the Bulldogs (15-7). Testa hit two doubles, Wire tripled and Svetlak homered for two RBIs. Landry Slider, Kayla Esterie and Hanna Ingram each had two hits for Stow.

Lisbon 8, East Palestine 7

Devyn Flory and Taylor Siefke each had three hits and two RBIs. Hannah Hiscox and Karlee Pezzano both had two hits. Hiscox and Flory scored two runs.

Boardman 5, Geneva 3

LIBERTY

Lauren Pavlansky had three hits and Hayley Eicher and Addison Menosky each had two hits and an RBI in the Spartans’ victory over the Eagles in the Mahoning Valley Invitational. Ashley Cornelius got the victory with some relief help from Kristen Huck, who pitched the last two innings and struck out five of the six batters she faced.

South Range 2, Crestview 0

EAST FAIRFIELD

Caragyn Yanek struck out 12 and pitched a two-hitter as the Raiders beat the Rebels to clinch their sixth straight ITCL title. Taylor Helon and Morgan Smith had doubles for South Range (17-6, 8-0) and Sarah Moretti had a triple. Helon and Jordan Youngs drove in the only runs for the Raiders in the fourth inning.
