POLAND

Mark Passarello (1-0) earned the win in relief, coming on in the fifth inning. Anthony Calcagni’s three hits included a double and he scored three runs. Marty Malenic had two hits and two RBIs. For the Irish, Vito Petrillo had two hits and two RBIs.

Girard 4, Howland 3

GIRARD

Dylan White tripled and scored the winning run on an overthrow. Zach Burrelli had two hits and scored a run for the Indians. Austin DeGregory doubled and drove in a run. Troy Trumbetta (3-1) pitched two innings of relief for the win. For the Tigers, Craig Lewis had four hits and two RBIs.

Champion 8, Warren Harding 3

WARREN

Michael Turner, Chris Miller and Bailey Slyk each had two hits for the Golden Flashes (16-6). Miller drove in two runs and hit a double. Austin Dodril and Cody Cykon also doubled. For the Raiders, Doug Painter hit two doubles. Mark Herron and Grant Williams each had two hits. One of Herron’s was a double and he drove in two runs.

Boardman 3, Eastlake North 2

BOARDMAN

Lou Cardona hit two doubles to lead the Spartans. Gaven Stines and Gino Beato also doubled. Dom Joyce and Scott Lendak combined to strike out 10 batters. For Eastlake North, Jacob Arrison had two hits.

Niles 3, Jefferson 2

NILES

Geno Barricella had three hits and scored a run to lead the Red Dragons. Murphy Miller and Marco DeFalco each had two hits. For the Falcons, Sam Chaney had two hits.

Jackson-Milton 8, Southern 7

NORTH JACKSON

Justin Rentz hit a walk-off single, scoring Zac Lane, to lift Jackson-Milton over Southern. Rentz also earned the win on the mound, striking out two and walking none. Tyler Totani also had two hits for the Bluejays (13-6-1). Erick Woodburn had two hits for the Indians (10-9).

McDonald 15, Lisbon 10

LISBON

Cameron Ifft went 3-for-3 with four RBIs and Joe Sudol and Ben Carkido added three hits of their own in a slugfest. Garrett Mulrooney didn’t allow a hit and struck out two in 1 1/3 innings to get the win for the Blue Devils (11-9). Dave Toot had three hits and Kyle French had two for Lisbon.

Nick Ferguson, Sam Kooyman, A. Frantz and C. Cameron had hits for the Rams.

BOARDMAN

Lendak had two hits and three RBIs and Sam Varga got the win for the Spartans (14-10). Painter had two hits for the Raiders (12-10).

HOWLAND

Nick Loychik had two hits and scored twice for the Tigers. Z. Nites had two hits and two RBIs. J. Shiver also had two hits.

SOFTBALL

Canfield 4, Ursuline 3

YOUNGSTOWN

Darby Cockrell and Jill Baker each had two hits to lead Canfield’s offense. Baker and Maura Kennedy each doubled while Kara Rothbauer drove in three runs. Winning pitcher Allison Fabry (8-0) struck out four and walked none for Canfield (16-4). For the Irish (11-11), Jordyn Kenneally and Megan Ross doubled while Zoie Amatore had two hits.

Boardman 12, Girard 2

LIBERTY

Anna Saxton and Olivia Russell both homered for the Spartans. Russell also contributed two singles and five RBIs. Lauren Gabriele added two hits and two RBIs and Kristen Huck pitched a six-hitter. Brooke Waid and Rose Maderitz each had two hits for Girard.

West Branch 8, LaBrae 2

LIBERTY

Bailey Byers had three hits and Trisha Rinold two for the Warriors (17-4). One of Rinold’s hits was a double. Kylie Coffelt drove in four runs and hit a double. For the Vikings, Kasey Reminger drove in two runs while Haley Davis and Kristen Saner each had two hits.

McDonald 18, Lisbon 5

LISBON

Kerrigan McDermott had five hits and four RBIs to lead McDonald’s offense past Lisbon. Rachel Ward had three hits, including a triple, and Cheyenne Titus had three hits and four RBIs for the Blue Devils (13-3). Rachel Ward struck out eight to earn the win. Hiscot had two hits and scored a run for Lisbon.

Mineral Ridge 12,

Wellsville 2

MINERAL RIDGE

Ally Watkins homered twice and had three hits to lead Mineral Ridge past Wellsville. Darby Kolesar had five strikeouts to pick up the win. Macy Garland added three hits for the Rams (9-6).
