The Poland High softball team split two games at the Mahoning Valley Invitational.

In a 3-0 victory over Akron SVSM, Kristyn Svetlak (6-4) tossed a two-hit shutout, striking out 11 and walking one.

Ally Deemer had three hits and two RBIs. She and Chloe Bush doubled.

In an 8-6 loss to Stow-Monroe Falls, Claire Testa, Amanda Wire and Svetlak each had two hits for the Bulldogs (15-7). Testa hit two doubles, Wire tripled and Svetlak homered for two RBIs.

Landry Slider, Kayla Esterie and Hanna Ingram each had two hits for Stow.
