PITTSBURGH

A former New Castle, Pa., resident has been sentenced to more than 27 years in federal prison after he pleaded guilty to producing material depicting the sexual exploitation of a minor.

Donald A. Miller, 43, drew the 327-month sentence, followed by a lifetime of supervised release, from U.S. District Judge Cathy Bissoon.

On Dec. 22, 2013, Miller forced an 8-year-old girl to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing videos depicting her sexual exploitation, the U.S. attorney said Friday.

The victim was identified and Miller was arrested after he sold an electronic tablet containing the videos depicting the abuse Dec. 24, 2013, at an Ohio flea market to a New Castle resident, who notified New Castle police.

Miller will be sentenced on related child rape and other state charges later this month in Lawrence County.

The case was investigated by Pennsylvania State and New Castle police and the FBI.
